Submitted by Kumuda on Fri, 2017-01-27 14:31 Hassan: Jawan Sandeep Shetty of Hassan district is one of the 11 soldiers who died at Sonamarg army camp in Jammu and Kashmir that was hit by avalanche on Wednesday. Sandeep hailed from Devihalli in Shantigrama hobli of Hassan district, reports Public TV. Shetty was engaged and his wedding was scheduled for Februrary 22. But it was a providential escape for two more army men from the state who were also trapped in the heap of snow. They have been identified as Major Srihari Kugaji and Bandivaddar. They were found to be trapped in mounds of snow. Both of them have been rescued now and are being treated at Army Hospital in Srinagar base camp. Major Srihari hails from Yallur in Belagavi and belongs to the 115 Mahar Battallion of Territorial Army unit housed at Belagavi fort. He was recently posted at Sonamarg, Ganderbal district Jammu and Kashmir.
