After Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel's 'fire' outburst, Uttar Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde has been accused of assaulting a private hospital staff in Sirsi, Uttar Kannada district, on January 2. Hegde's mother was admitted to the hospital and his family members allegedly complained that the treatment was not up to the mark at the hospital and there was no proper response from either the hospital administration or management on the treatment being provided. Besides, the staff was no helpful in treating Hegde's mother, they complained. Apparently, angered over this, MP Ananth Kumar Hegde thrashed doctors Madhukeshwar, Balchandra Bhat and hospital president Shantaram Hegde in front of the whole staff. A nurse has also suffered injuries, it is said. The incident has been captured on CCTV. Condemning the incident, the doctors' association in Uttar Kannada will most likely to hold a possible protest against the BJP parliamentarian's high-handedness. It may be recalled here that Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had threatened that the district will be up in flames if the police fail to arrest the murderers of Karthik Raj, son of Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat vice-president, Umesh Ganiga. Both Parliamentarians from the BJP party have caused much embarrassment to the party.
