Hiremath drops a bomb, accuses HDK and kin of encroaching upon land meant for poor

Submitted by Kumuda on Sun, 2016-10-30 16:49 Hubli: Samaja Parivarthana Samudaya president SR Hiremath has accused former chief minister and JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy of encroaching upon 200 acres of land meant for the Scheduled Caste community near Ramanagar district. Addressing the mediapersons here on Sunday, Hiremath alleged that the land was meant for Adi Karnataka community members who come under the Scheduled Caste. "However, Kumaraswamy and his family members have been encroaching the land rather systematically at Kethaganahalli near Bidadi hobli in Ramanagar district." He also blamed Kumaraswamy's relative and Maddu legislator DC Thammanna of taking over the land meant for the poor. He also alleged that JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda should have acted upon it when he was the minister during Ramakrishna Hegde government, but he too kept quiet indirectly encouraging his son and family members to encroach the land. The encroachment has been going on since 1987 but successive governments have done nothing, he pointed out. He further claimed that it was CM Lingappa who wrote a detailed letter to then chief minister Ramakrishna Hegde on unabashed encroachment of land by Kumaraswamy and his kin. "But the governments have turned a blind eye over this," he said. He dared Siddaramaiah governemnt to recover such a vast of land without wasting time and distribute it among the genuine beneficiaries of Adi Karnataka community.
