Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-10-05 15:38 Yadgiri: An eighteen-month-old infant has allegedly been sacrificed to ward off the evil at Boodinala village in Shahapur taluk in Yadigiri district on Monday night. The body of baby Amritha was found in the well that belonged to her family. Basaiah Swami and Lakshmi of Boodinala have alleged that their daughter was allegedly sacrificed to ward off the evil. Amritha was their second daughter. It is said that Amritha was sleeping with her mother Lakshmi and other family members. Lakshmi who woke up around 3 am did not find her child. She alerted her family members, who began to search everywhere. However, they spotted the body in an abandoned well behind their house. Amirtha's grandfather Rachaiah alleged that they found vermillion, rice, turmeric and other things - that are used in blackmagic - near the well, where Amritha's body was found. According to Shashiswami, a relative of Basaiah, they had seen vermillion and turmeric spread near the well in the evening. But they did not take it seriously. Superintendent of Police Vinayak Patil visited the spot. Vadagera police have registered the case and are investigating the case.
