Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-07-16 16:37 Mysuru: NGO Apna Desh will be launching its Mysuru chapter at Vijaya Vittala Educational Institution, Saraswathipuram, on Saturday. Founded in 1991 by IAS officer Bharath Lal Meena, presently serving as Principal Secretary, Higher Education, , Apna Desh works education, environment and wellness sectors. R Vasudev Bhat, patron of Apna Desh, Mysuru chapter, said Apna Desh volunteers would try to find solutions to the problems plaguing the public. The main idea of Apna Desh is to create a feeling of 'We' instead of 'I', he said, adding that the NGO hoped to build a democratic society that ensures freedom, equal opportunity and peace via self-reliance. He said the NGO aimed to open about 100 branches across the country. Founder of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement Dr R Balasubramanyam will inaugurate the chapter while Bharath Lal Meena would be the chief guest.
