Submitted by Rashmi on Fri, 2016-07-15 15:04 Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed the PIL petition filed by a city-based advocate seeking directions to file an FIR against Minister for Bengaluru Development KJ George. The division bench comprising Chief Justice SK Mukherjee and Justice Ravi Malimath dismissed the petition saying the high court cannot issue directions in this regard. When Additional advocate general A S Ponanna submitted that a petition is filed in Madikeri JMFC court seeking a similar relief, the bench directed the petitioners to seek relief in the lower court. A city-based advocate Ranganath Reddy moved the high court seeking directions to file an FIR against Minister KJ George and police officers Pranab Mohanty and AM Prasad after Mangaluru DySP MK Ganapathy leveled charges against them before ending his life. Reddy held them responsible for abetment of suicide.
