He was addressing farmers at a two-day state level conference here on Tuesday. He said he will take state farmers’ issues to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sugarcane growers were urged to use technology that promotes less water for cultivation. Under the insurance scheme initiated by Neeti Ayog, Kanth said he would discuss with prime minister to bring sugarcane and sericulture crops under insurance scheme. He asked the farmers to take benefits of various farmer-friendly initiatives of the central government. State Sugarcane Growers’ Association president Kuruburu Shanthakumar, Karnataka Krushi Bele Ayoga president Dr T N Prakash Kammaradi and NABAARD, Karnataka region, chief general manager M I Ganigi were present.
