Submitted by alvin on Mon, 2016-06-20 16:12 Bengaluru: Saturday’s Cabinet reshuffle is leading to dramatic changes in Karnataka politics. On Monday, housing minister, MH Ambareesh – who was dropped from the new Cabinet – resigned as Mandya MLA. It is learnt that Ambareesh sent his resignation letter through his personal assistant to deputy speaker. However, it has not been accepted yet, it is said. Ambareesh’s resignation is a clear indicator of him being upset with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s decision to drop him in the new Cabinet. Ambareesh’s supporters took to streets in Mandya to protest and at least two persons tried to commit suicide to register their protest against injustice meted out to Ambareesh.Meanwhile, food and civil supplies minister Dinesh Gundurao, who also didn’t find a place in the new Cabinet, has now been appointed as the working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).The Cabinet revamp saw exit of 14 ministers and inclusion of 13 legislators. The shuffle is being seen as an attempt by the party to hit the refresh button, as the government enters the final lap of its tenure. Karnataka Assembly elections are due in 2018.Factors such as caste, age, and resource generation were reportedly in play as the Congress chose the new ministers. (ANI) Being non-corrupt , straight forward
