On Monday, Yeddyurappa accompanied by former minister R Ashoka called on the former Congress leader at the latter's house in Sadashivnagar. The three reportedly had a closed-door meeting. Krishna had quit the Congress unhappy at being sidelined by the party. Later, Yeddyurappa invited Krishna to join the party, saying that he would wait for his response. If Krishna does join the BJP, it would be a setback for the state Congress, which is reeling under allegations of corruption and rumours of several impending desertions.
