He told mediapersons here on Friday that he was upset with the rampant groupism in the Congress. He even blamed Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa for neglecting him in the district. "Despite complaining to the senior leaders and even AICC leaders, none took note of it," said Kumar, who joined Congress in 1996. "Congress needs only managers and those who can strike various kinds of deals not honest leaders," he added. "Although I had opposed BJP and Narendra Modi earlier, now I have decided to join BJP to bring a better government in the state," he said. He further said that Congress is working against its own leaders in Shivamogga, Uttar Kannada and Mangaluru for the next Assembly elections.
