Sources said that George will get back Bengaluru Development portfolio that he was handling before resigning. It may be recalled here that DySP Ganapathy had charged that minister KJ George, his seniors AM Prasad (IG-Intelligence) and Pranab Mohanty (IGP- Lokayukta) harassed him and held them responsible if anything happened to him. Ganapathy made these allegations before a local channel in Madikeri. Later, Ganapathy was found hanging in a lodge.Following a private complaint by Ganapathy’s son Nehal Ganapathy at a Madikeri court, the court directed to file a criminal complaint against the minister George and AM Prasad and Pranab Mohanty. While the government ordered an investigation into the death of the officer, George remained in his office.  Opposition parties demanded that George should step down as he was facing charges. However, George claimed that he did no wrong and there was no need for him to resign. As the cries for his resignation became louder, George was forced to step down. Now, with the Criminal Investigation Department awarding clean chit to the minister, George will be back at his office. He is expected to take oath of office on Monday.
