Submitted by alvin on Fri, 2016-09-23 19:59 Bengaluru: Several legislators were caught napping while one minister was found drawing rangoli on paper during the special legislature session convened to discuss Cauvery water row on Friday. Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree was seen drawing rangoli on a piece of paper as her colleagues fiercely debated the injustice meted out to the state. Umashree TV Grab Her senior and former KPCC president Allum Veerbhadrappa was found dozing. Even JD(S) MLA HD Revanna, who was quite active before the lunch break, was found taking a nap. Giving him company was Magadi MLA Balakrishna, Nagamangala MLA Cheluvarayaswamy and independent candidate Varthur Prakash. However, what surprised everyone was the absence of Mandya MLA and cine actor MH Ambareesh at the session. While the whole of Mandya and other regions of Cauvery basin are boiling over the Cauvery row, the legislator did not bother to turnup at the session. A couple of months ago, Ambareesh along with Nanjangud legislator V Srinivas Prasad were sacked from the cabinet. Since then the two had been keeping away from the party's affairs. However, when the whole state has united for Cauvery, these legislators from the Cauvery basin chose to remain absent for the special session on Friday.
