The organisation has condemned the Indian army and such remarks against the soldiers should not be tolerated at any cost, they felt. They criticised the state government for caning the ABVP students who were protesting against the Amnesty International. “The Congress government must hang its head in shame for allowing Amnesty International to express anti-India sentiments,” they said. Chikmagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje addressing the protesters at Town Hall said “we will not tolerate condemnation of our soldiers who die on the borders protecting the country’s sovereignty.” It may be recalled here that the police caned ABVP activists who staged a protest against Amnesty International, last week for highlighting the plight of Kashmiri families which eventually led to anti-India slogans.
