According to the sources in the Congress party, George was asked to resign by leaders and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah following the court order and also to avoid unnecessary allegations. George said he was confident of getting a clean chit in this case. "I have not done anything to DySP Ganapathy and I am confident of winning legal battle," he said, adding that he would take a further decision speaking to party leaders. Meanwhile, the chief minister also asked Pranab Mohanty and AM Prasad to go on compulsory leave and join duty only after getting cleared of all charges in the case.
