Legislators were seen watching television in the lounge. Many of them were hooked to panel discussion on news channels. A few of them spent their night discussing the party’s strategies. BJP leaders were seen singing bhajans and other songs. They were protesting seeking resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George in the DySP Ganapathy’s suicide case. In view of their protest, the secretariats of both the Houses had made all the arrangements including mattress, blankets, pillows. They were served dinner too. Besides, an emergency medical staff was deputed stand-by and mobile jammers in both the houses were turned off. It is learnt that JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy did not participate in the protest. It may be recalled here that in 2015, the Opposition party staged night-long dharna inside the House demanding a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer DK Ravi. In 2010, Opposition parties had protested at the House against illegal mining issue.
