Following the charges levelled against former home minister KJ George and two senior police officers by deceased DySP MK Ganapathi, Opposition parties are up in arms demanding George’s resignation.Speaking to a television channel here on Tuesday, George categorically stated that he has no role in Ganapathy suicide case. “Except on one occasion, I have had no contact with Ganapathy,” said George adding that Ganapathy had come to meet him with a request to revoke his suspension. “Although, I told him that I cannot do anything about it, he was posted in an executive position later. In fact, he had blamed me for his transfer after attack on churches in Mangaluru.”George further stated that he has never interfered in the department proceedings. When asked why he was being blamed for Ganapathy’s death, he asked the media and Opposition parties to show documents to prove his involvement. He further said that “I know I’m right. My conscious clear. However, if chief minister seeks my resignation, I will give it right away. Party is important to me not the power.”
