Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2017-02-09 18:33 Mumbai: TV actor Shruti Ulfat and three others have been remanded to judicial custody after the actor posted a video with cobra as part of a promo for TV serial 'Nagarjun'. The Maharashtra Forest Department officials arrested the four people including the actor and two production managers after the video showing the actor with the cobra went viral. They have been remanded in judicial custody for 7 seven days under the Wild Life Protection Act 1972, after many animal rights activists protested about the promo. Range forest officer Santhosh Kank said: "We enquired the production team and they claimed that it was just a special effect and not a real cobra, after which we downloaded the video posted on social media and sent it to the forensic lab. The lab told us that the cobra was real and no special effects were used." pollaroid-93 Kank said that after the receiving the forensic report from the lab, Forest officials spoke to the production team of the TV serial, who confessed that the cobra was indeed real. Under the Wildlife Protection Act,Schedule II, cobras are treated as a rare species. the video was made in October 2016 to promote the TV serial Nagarjun. Shruti posted it son social media and it became viral. In the video Shruti is seen holding the cobra. She says that it was a bronze cobra, that it was very beautiful and that she could feel it breathing. Shruti has appeared in many Bollywood films Raaz, Aetbaar and Ye Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan. She has also acted in TV serials like Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin, Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zarurat Hai, Shrimaan Shrimati and Sasuraal Genda Phool.
