Madani granted permission by SC to visit ailing mother

Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-06-30 19:24 Bengaluru: The Supreme Court has granted permission to PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani to visit his ailing mother in Kerala.Lodged in a Bengaluru jail in connection with the Bengaluru serial bomb blasts case, the duration of Madani’s stay in Kerala will be decided by the trial court.Madani had submitted a petition in the apex court seeking permission to meet his mother, following which the SC asked him to handover the details of his mother’s illness and doctor’s report to the trail court.The SC also set aside a provision which required Madani to appear before the trial court every day during the trial period and directed the trial court to complete the trial within one year.Madani’s advocate had urged the court to allow him to visit his ailing mother once in two months and also to exempt him from daily appearance in the trial court due to poor health.The SC had allowed Madani to visit his home for five days during May last year.
