Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-06-22 20:46 Bengaluru: The Madiwala traffic police morphed into temporary mechanics and repaired a steel-laden truck that had broken down on busy Hosur-Madiwala Main Road on Wednesday morning.Traffic on the road was thrown out of gear when the truck carrying construction material broke down in the middle of the road.Police inspector R Vasu along with constables Nataraj and Raja Sab Meti rushed to the spot and tried to push the vehicle to the side but their efforts went in vain.But the policemen showed presence of mind. The three swung into action and first checked the engine. They discovered that the motor belt of the truck had snapped, due to which the truck could not move.With the driver unable to find a mechanic, the three policemen borrowed a spanner from a passing vehicle to remove the motor. Nataraj rushed to a nearby shop to get a fan belt.Within a few minutes, the trio succeeded in repairing the vehicle, following which they moved the vehicle to the side of the road.Passers-by, who were witnessed to the episode, applauded their efforts by clapping. “We are just happy that we could of help. We also realised that training during induction can come handy,” Vasu said.
