Submitted by alvin on Fri, 2016-06-17 20:16 Bengaluru: A sub-inspector and a station writer attached with the JB Nagar police station were caught red-handed accepting bribe to issue a conduct certificate by officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday. The duo identified as Srinivasa and Purushotham, who had demanded Rs6000 from a resident to issue the certificate, was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and remanded in judicial custody. According to a official release, the resident (name withheld) had applied to undergo civil rifle training course organised by the city police which requires candidates to submit a conduct certificate issued by the jurisdictional police. When the applicant approached the police, the arrested duo reportedly demanded bribe to issue the certificate, following which the resident filed a complaint with the ACB. Upon receiving the complaint, a team of plainclothes policemen went to the station and caught the duo red-handed accepted the bribe.
