Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Ranganath PV, General Secretary, Sankey Park Walkers Association, said, “Land measuring about 7.1 acres and belonging to the forest department has been handed over to private companies ( Mantri Developers and Gulf Oil Corporation). Moreover, the sale deed documents procured under RTI query by Malleswaram residents also shows that the documents had been forged by the above private parties.” Doreswamy said if the government did not act within a week, then they will hold a dharna in front of chief minister's house. The forum members said they had suggested the CM to form a committee headed by the chief secretary, secretaries of urban development department, forest department, survey settlement department, commerce and industries to look into the illegal activities at Sankey tank about two months back. However, the committee is yet to be formed, said the members.
