She is said to have given the resignation letter to CPI Nagappa requesting him to hand it over to the higher authorities. It is learnt that Anupama – on Friday – had arrested a few Congress leaders, who opposed construction of Ambedkar Bhavan on a land next to a wine shop near town bus stand. Apparently, the land was donated by wine shop proprietors. It is said that there was pressure on Anupama to release those arrested and this allegedly forced Anupama to quit her post.Ballari SP, R Chethan confirming the news told bfirst.in that “I do not know the reason behind Anupama’s resignation. I’m yet to see her papers.”
