Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-05-28 17:14 Bengaluru: Water resources minister MB Patil met Fali S Nariman, head of the Karnataka’s legal team on Cauvery, Krishna and Mahadayi river water disputes, on Saturday. In an informal interaction, the minister discussed about the issues pertaining to the notification of the final order of the Krishna River Water Tribunal-II, Telangana’s objection over the Krishna Tribunal award, and the Karnataka’s stand on the Mahadayi river water dispute. The minister sought the opinion of the senior counsel on utilising the Karnataka’s share of water as allocated by the KWDT-II for the projects which were planned in the Krishna basin in the state. Mohan V Kataraki and SS Javali, other members of the Karnataka’s legal team, also briefed the minister on the issue. Rakesh Singh, Principal Secretary, Water Resources, Anjum Parvez, Managing Director of the Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigama (KBJNL), Chikkarayappa, MD, Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Limited, and other senior officials were also present.
