Why 'Bigg Boss' winner Pratham still hasn't got his Rs 50 lakh prize money

After being declared the winner of Big Boss Kannada Season 4, he had announced that he would use the prize money of Rs 50 lakh for the welfare of the poor. But he has not received the prize money even after 20 days of being declared as the winner. The reason: Pratham has no permanent account number (PAN) card which is mandatory for receiving more than Rs 49,000 or to open a bank account.“I have already applied for the PAN card and expect to receive it within a month. I have to wait till one month to receive the prize money of Big Boss Kannada Season 4. I want to make it a fixed deposit and use the interest amount of Rs 40,000 for the welfare of needy families. This amount can be utilised for the welfare of to two families,” he said.He is also planning to distribute sewing machines for the girls from economically weaker sections.“Recently I participated in a programme. The organisers of the programme gave me Rs 50,000. I donated it to martyr Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s family. I do not want to keep the money with me,’’ he added.It may be recalled that Pratham had made a courtesy visit to former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy at Vidhana Soudha on February 2 and explained him how he wanted to help the poor families with the prize money. Kumaraswamy had congratulated and wished Pratham a great success in his endeavor.Now, Pratham has achieved one more milestone in his career by signing four Kannada films in 24 hours. “The process of accepting Kannada films began from Monday afternoon and completed by Tuesday morning. I have agreed to act in films directed by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, S Narayan, Suresh Kumar and one of my close friends. The shooting my first Kannada film will begin next month,’’ he said
