Speaking at the valediction of the country's first-ever biodiesel adventure Eco Driveathon 2017, Ramakrishna said the move would create a demand for biodiesel oil seeds which in turn would help the farmers. Tracking the history of biofuels in the country, the official said that way back in 1940, when the country witnessed a shortage of petroleum, 20f ethanol was blended in Mumbai.
