Strangely, the expert committee setup by the BBMP commissioner is yet to bring out its report on the mall where a few workers were injured due to wall collapse a month ago. Mantri authorities prepared the report with the help of Innotech Consultant Private Limited, which has given a clean chit to the firm saying the building was safe and the damaged wall should be renovated. "Innotech made an immediate impact study after making 7 visits starting from 16th to 6th FEB and expressed that the incident is limited to the extended slab area and stability of the structure within is safe," the report stated. The report also recommended the removal of the cement layer in the cantilever slab area, including the cooling tower pipes, to reduce the load on the cantilever section. Going by the report, Mantri officials declared their building as safe and are working on the extended slab areas to make it more safe. Innotech officials said several visits were arranged and a report was prepared as per the client's requirements. "It is up to Mantri to comment about the report," said Innotech. BBMP expert committee chairperson Thippanna said the Mantri report would not be treated as final. "We had made few recommendations, the mall had to work on that and authorities had given a report saying that these recommendations have been met. The report was given on February 12 by mall authorities. The expert committee will meet on Monday and decide on the safety aspects," he said.
