Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2017-02-15 14:08 Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has promised to withdraw 51 cases registered against farmers who protested demanding implementation of Mahadayi river project. At the session, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah informed the House that as many as 81 cases have been registered against farmers in Navalgund and Naragund areas of which the Home Department has recommended to withdraw 29 cases. The cabinet could decide about another 22 cases. However, a decision in this regard will be taken at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. It would be difficult to withdraw cases lodged against arsoning and rioting. But the cases booked against innocents will be withdrawn, Siddaramaiah said. Earlier, JD(S) leader NH Konrreddy protested in front of the speaker demanding withdrawl of cases registered against farmers in fight for Mahadayi.
