The state government on Saturday decided to amend the prevention of cruelty to animals Act and allow Kambala. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting on Saturday evening, Law Mnister TB Jayachandra said the state cabinet had decided to amend the existing law.The move is being regarded as in response to a massive protest held in support of kambala at Moodbidri here on Friday. Kambala is a traditional rural sport in coastal region.The fight for Kambala gained momentum after Jallikattu lovers took to streets in neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu.
