He appealed to the police personnel to think about their families and loved ones before ending their lives. This may give them strength to overcome their weakness, he felt.He also said that his government is contemplating to appoint counsellors exclusively for police personnel, in the wake of rising suicides among the police force. It may be recalled here that the suicides of DySP Ganapathy, DySP Kallappa Handibag and inspector Raghavendran – this year – had rattled the state government.  Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, he said as many as 22 police personnel died in the line of duty.Listing out various welfare programmes initiated for the police personnel, Siddaramaiah said the government is planning to open a CBSE syllabus school exclusively for children of police force. Also, the government is providing accommodation facilities to those who come to Bengaluru on duty and canteen at all units. He refuted the complaints that he had a difference of opinion with over review of pay revision. “This is absolutely false. Our government is compassionate towards police. I have directed the Finance Department to send a proposal for pay revision.”
