Submitted by alvin on Fri, 2016-08-12 19:07 Bengaluru: Although the BBMP has suspended its demolition drive against encroachers for a while, the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force has registered six cases against 20 serving and retired officials of the Palike and Bangalore Development Authority, who allowed these constructions to come up on stormwater drains. It may be recalled here, BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad has already filed cases against these officials following the complaint by Urban Development Department (UDD). Officials are booked under several sections and they face charges including cheating, tampering with government documents and interfereing with the topography. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at a recent meeting with UDD additional chief secretary has categorically told not to hesitate while initiating stringent action against erring officials. Meanwhile, the BMTF has booked cases on builders and developers and they include, Ansal Forte in Roopena Agrahara; EAPL Apartments (Thirumala Splendor) on Hosur Road; Avani Sringeri Layout in Nyanappanahalli; D Lakkanna and D Shantha who built a residential complex in Bommanahalli zone; owners of survey number 61/1A of Bilekahalli village; and developers and builders of Shubh Enclave near Kasavanahalli village. Here’s the list of officials who have been booked by BMTF: S C Kari Gowda and GJ Nayak, retired town planning members of BDA; D Sathyanarayana, BDA; and MN Shankar Bhat, retired law officer, BDA, have been booked for alleged violations pertaining to Ansal Forte in Roopena Agrahara. Guruprasad, assistant engineer, BBMP; Shashidhar, additional director, town planning, BBMP; BT Mohan Krishna, deputy director, town planning, BBMP; Govindaraju, joint director, town planning (South zone), BBMP; and Chowdegowda, retired additional director, town planning, BBMP for violations in EAPL (Thirumala's Splendour) building on Hosur Road. K Veerendranath, retired additional director of town planning, BBMP; Mohammed Abdulla Azeem, AEE, BBMP; and G Gurumurthy, AEE, BBMP, have been booked for allowing a building to come up on survey No. 103 in Nyanappanahalli of Begur hobli. Vijayakumar D Patil and DS Sarvothamaraju, additional directors of town planning in BBMP, have been booked for allegedly approving construction by D Lakkanna and D Shantha in Bommanahalli zone. Besides, BBMP superintendent engineer S Mrithyunjaya and joint director (town planning) T Nataraj have been booked for allowing illegal constructions in Bilekahalli village of Bommanahalli zone. Liaqath and Gangappa, assistant executive engineers, BBMP; Sunitha, assistant engineer, BBMP; Munikrishna, chief engineer, BBMP have been booked for allegedly permitting Shubh Enclave in Kasavanahalli and Kaikondrahalli lakes.
