Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-08-06 19:04 Bengaluru: The CCB police arrested two Nigerian nationals on Friday on charges of peddling drugs and seized cocaine worth Rs5.25 lakh from their custody. The two Nigerians were arrested at Anandapura circle near KR Puram, East Bengaluru. The accused have been identified as Kenneth Jideofor, 23, and Obumneme Victor, 27, both are residents of Maragondanahalli near KR Puram. Police said that a team of officials swung into action on receiving a tip-off about the accused trying to sell cocaine to customers at Anandapura Circle. During the raid, the police seized 105 grams of cocaine worth Rs5.25 lakh along with four mobile phones, one two-wheeler, and their passports. The accused allegedly told the police that they procured banned narcotic substances from a network run by Nigerian nationals in the city. Later, they sold it to college students and private firm employees for Rs5,000 per gram, police said. "The two had come to India on a business visa. Kenneth's visa had expired on March 2016 and he had been overstaying in the city," the police said. The police have registered a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and also under Foreigners Act at KR Puram police station.
