Karnataka reaches out to US, committee to fast-track investments in state

Submitted by alvin on Fri, 2016-07-29 10:36 Bengaluru: The government of Karnataka has set up a Business Development and facilitation Committee for monitoring US investments in the state.The committee, to be headed by DV Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, will have representatives from the relevant departments and also representatives of US industry associations in India, to facilitate and fast-track US investments in the state.The two-way trade between India and the US was about $100 billion in 2014, and is expected to reach $500 billion by 2025.The government representatives on the committee will include the Additional Chief Secretaries of Labour, Energy, IDD, besides the principal Secretary, IT-BT and Science
