When I was elected as LS member, I took oath in Kannada. This year, all the 28 MPs elected from Karnataka took oath in Kannada. Not only this, I also addressed the UN general assembly in Kannada and translated it to English.”Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, Ananth Kumar also pitched for digitalisation of Kannada language. “It is the only way to keep it alive. When people are moving towards adaptation of latest technologies, with some predicting that books might disappear in ten years, people can read about Kannada literary pieces with the help of digitalisation. This can happen with the help of Kannadiga software engineers,” said Ananth Kumar.
