Releasing two books on astrology, brought out by SMSP Samskrit Research Centre, at Srikrishna Math on Wednesday, the seer asked the government to think through the decision. “There are arguments that astrology leads to exploitation but people are exploited even in education, politics and medicine. But we cannot ban them. Astrology should be allowed to exist but at the same time it is essential to see that no one is exploited. Banning astrology might affect the feelings of people,” he said Chairman of state legislative council DH Shankaramurthy, registrar of Karnataka Sanskrit University Dr Sidde Gowda, junior swamiji of Pejavar Math Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji, and scholars from Karnataka Sanskrit University were present during the occasion.
