Submitted by alvin on Mon, 2016-06-27 10:17 Mangaluru: Almost a day after media speculated about the arrest of Naresh Shenoy, Mangaluru police commissioner chandrashekhar stated that shenoy was nabbed on Sunday from Hejamady in Udupi district. Addressing the media on Sunday, chandrashekhar said Shenoy - accused in RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder - was picked up around 11.30 am. Shenoy had been evading arrest and it is learnt that he was hiding in Jammu and Kashmir, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Nepal. Those who aided Naresh to escape will be investigated. Chandra Shekhar also said Vignesh, a colleague of Shenoy will be taken to custody to extract more information. Baliga was running Vikas Traders, an ayurvedic medicine distribution firm. According to primary investigation, Shenoy along with other accused conspired Baliga's murder. Also, he had destroyed all the evidence after Baliga was killed. Shenoy will be produced before the court on Monday and police will seek his custody. The investigation was led by ACP Tilakchandra and inspectors Ravish Naik, Shantaram, Rajesh, Maruti Naik and CCB inspector Valentine D'Souza assisted him.
