Speaking to mediapersons at Uchila, her home town, Anupama said she was “harassed, almost daily” within the department. From January 2016, she had been facing “harassment” while on duty. During Zilla and Taluk panchayat elections, she was assigned duties that allegedly disregarded the model code of conduct, Anupama alleged. She was served memos for flimsy reasons almost every day by the higher-ups, thanks to the conspiracy by the politicians, Anupama said. She has now written to Karnataka State Commission for Women Chairperson Manjula Manasa, explaining her ordeal at the Commission. Alleging that resignation procedure was “twisted” by her seniors to benefit their own “cause”, Anupama did not rule out the possibility of appealing in Karnataka Administrative Tribunal in this regard. On her future plans, Anupama said she might go back to teaching or would work in an NGO outside the state.
