Suchitra, a resident of Kodi Kanyana village in Udupi district – on Thursday – approached Inspector of General Police (Western Range) demanding justice. In her complaint to IGP Arun Chakravarthy, Suchitra said Brahmavar sub-inspector Tharanath and a constable had come to hospital on May 20 to take a statement of her brother, who was under treatment after an assault. “The SI and constable misbehaved with me and tried to molest me,” she alleged. On May 23, she approached SP Annamalai complaining against SI and a constable. “SP asked me to narrate the whole incident. It was embarrassing for me explain as there were no female cops,” she said. However, the SP failed to take action against the SI and the constable, she alleged.
