Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-06-02 10:32 Mangaluru: A gang involved in motorbike theft was busted by the Dakshina Kannada district police, who arrested four persons and seized 11 two-wheelers stolen from different parts of Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts. The accused have been identified as Mansoor, 19, a resident of Puttur Kasba Village, Puttur taluk, Shabbir, 19, a resident of Golikatte, Parladka, Puttur taluk, Thoufeeq, 22, a resident Polya, Kabaka Village, Puttur taluk, and Majeed, 25, son of Mohammed, a resident of Yermalpalke, Kadirudyavara Village, Belthangady taluk. Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase said personnel from Vittla police station apprehended the gang, which included two teenagers, while carrying out vehicle checking on Vittla-Ukkuda road. The cops were reportedly were looking for the thieves, as a case of motorbike theft had been registered at Vittla Police station just four days ago. During the checking, police reportedly noticed two youngsters riding a motorbike at high speed. When the duo ignored the signal to stop, the cops gave chase and managed to waylay them at Perla. Soon, the rider and pillion rider abandoned the motorbike and started running. But both of them were caught by the police. The SP said the boys, both aged 19, confessed that it had been stolen and that they were planning to sell it in Kasaragod. When they were questioned further, the two spilled the beans about their past operations. The police arrested the two and based on the information given by them the police arrested two others, which resulted in the seizure of 5 two-wheelers kept in a deserted house in Kumabalabettu and 5 other bikes parked near Kasaragod Big Bazaar.
