The prankster put on net a notice purportedly issued by the university, asking students not to masturbate in the common bathrooms. According to the notice – issued by Col C M S Kalakoti, Chief Warden, MIT – the students are strictly advised against masturbating in bathrooms as excessive amounts of semen in the drain was leading to clogging of the drains. And it costs thousands of rupees towards maintenance. The notice further said the University plans to add these maintenance costs to hostel prices for students from next year. The notice also states that "Please masturbate in your own room." Efforts to reach Col Kalakoti were futile. However, the notice turned out to be a hoax – an act of mischief by a student. Manipal University PRO Alex Chandy rubbished such a notice was issued by the University. Image of the notice which went viral He went on to say that a student photoshopped a notice that was issued way back in 2011 at University of St Andrews, UK. He denied that Manipal University having issued any such notice. While the University has denied such a development, the notice – allegedly photoshopped – has gone viral on social media evoking riotous laughter from men's hostel.
