Bereaved DVS too faces demonetisation heat in Mangaluru

Submitted by alvin on Tue, 2016-11-22 13:42 Mangaluru: The ripple effect of demonetisation did not spare eve the Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda, who felt the heat at KMC Hospital in Mangaluru. The former chief minister had gone to receive his brother DV Bhaskar’s body, who passed away recently at the Hospital. DV Bhaskar (54) was an agriculturist.  Apparently, Sadananda Gowda handed out old currency notes but the hospital authorities refused to accept them causing great inconvenience to Gowda. Although the government had stated that old currency notes could be used in hospitals and pharmacy, the KMC hospital authorities refused to accept them, it is learnt. However it is not known why the minister did not use the card to make payment when his own government has demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
