The arrested have been identified as Vishwanath Poojary alias Kodikere Vishwa, 33, Haneef alias Haneef Adyapady, 37, and Mustafa, 30. Vishwanath, a resident of Jokatte and wanted for crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, assault and life threats, had nine cases registered against him in various police stations. He was arrested and sent to Vijayapura central jail. Haneef from Bajpe had six serious cases against him including attempt to murder and assault charges. He was arrested and sent to Belagavi central jail. Mustafa, a resident of Kavoor, had 4 cases of murder and attempt to murder cases against him. He was arrested and sent to the Mysuru central Jail. Based on the report submitted by the DCP of Law and Order Shantharaju, ACP Crime Uday Nayak, Surathkal Inspector Cheluvaraj and Kavoor Police inspector Nataraj, the police commissioner issued an order to arrest the three and charge them under the Goonda Act.
