Mangaluru police nab two in Konchady burglary case

Submitted by alvin on Fri, 2016-07-08 17:58 Mangaluru: The police arrested two individuals in connection with a theft reported from a house in Konchady on July 8.The accused have been identified as Ambanna Basappa Jayaram alias Ambarish, 25, and Rashida, 23, both residents of Navalgunda.The police arrested the two at Kulai, when they were searching for a house to rent,” said Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar on Friday, adding that Rs17.38 lakhs was seized from the two. “One of the accused, Ambarish, has been involved in various cases and has been in jail. He was also arrested in a motorbike theft case in Bijapur,” said the commissioner.Chandra Sekhar also urged residents to verify background details of employees and domestic servants before hiring them.  In this case, the employer had not collected any information about his employees, he said.The operation was carried out under the leadership of ACP Uday Nayak, Inspector MA Nataraj, PSI Umesh Kumar MN, ASI Vanajakshi, Vishwanath, Ramanna Shetty, Balakrishna, Rajshekar Gowda, Ganesh Kumar and Yashwanth Rai.
