Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-09-07 17:48 Mysuru: College youths will welcome Dasara celebrations with a six-day colourful carnival ‘Yuva Sambhrama’ before the traditionalDasara fest is inaugurated formally. The event will begin September 21 and end on September 26, at Manasagangothri amphitheatre. ‘Yuva Sambhrama’, a sub-event of the mega national fest, Yuva Dasara, will be part of Dasara festival. Yuva Sambhrama is a bouquet of opportunities for talented college youths. Till date, a hundred colleges from Mysuru and nearby districts have registered to compete in the student-centric cultural event. On Wednesday the Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee has organized a meeting with principals of colleges in Mysuru and nearby districts on preparing the troupes for the event. The outstanding performers among the troupes would get to perform at the Yuva Dasara beginning from October 3 at Maharaja’s College grounds. Rajesh, special officer of Yuva Dasara sub-committee, said themes identified for the performing troupes included dance-dramas on Water conservation, Nature conservation, Women empowerment, 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar and the birth centenary year celebration of D Devaraja Urs. The troupes are required to perform in a manner that would project positive messages to society, while not hurting any religion or individuals. Rajesh mentioned that presently a hundred colleges had registered for the event. “We will also persuade more colleges to send their troupe to compete in famous cultural platform. It is also part of education. It could be great exposure to talented youths who are trying to find their future on the stage,” he said.
