Now it is destined for demolition. Hotel Dasaprakash, known for its delicacies and courteous service, will disappear soon. Before the rash of modern hotels came up in Mysuru, Dasaprakash was the first choice of celebrities to stay in the heritage city. India’s top film stars, singers, dancers and politicians used to stay in the hotel located at Gandhi square, opposition the iconic Prabha talkies in Mysuru. The south Indian food of Dasaprakash was among the best anywhere. Its south Indian thali, butter masala dosa and halbai sweet are to die for. Mysuru city is known as the Heritage capital of Karnataka, haivng nearly 250 heritage structures including private buildings. With the modernization of the city, its beautiful old buildings are disappearing. Bowing to the demands of time, the owners of Dasaprakash have decided to dismantle the old structure and construct a new building. Recently heritage structures like Opera Theatre on Sri Harsha Road, and Indra Bhavan Hotel were also dismantled. Sadly, Dasaprakash has now joined the list of endangered landmarks.
