The first case was reported from Dattagalli, where Suguna, 28, was relieved of her 40 gram gold chain at 8 am. According to Suguna, two bike-borne miscreants speaking in Hindi approached her seeking an address. Having diverted her attention, the miscreants snatched her gold chain and fled the spot. Later, the same persons are said to have struck again at Vijayanagar 3rd stage where they snatched gold chain belonging to a woman identified as Megha at 9 am. At 9.50 am, the chain-snatchers struck yet again at 4th main, 1st Stage in Hebbal, where one Rukmini was relieved of her 40 gram gold chain near Abhishek Circle. The police have suspected the role of infamous Irani Gang to be behind all crimes as the modus operandi was similar in all three cases. They also suspected that the gang had planned to strike at different locations as they were aware that the cops would be busy with security arrangements for Vice President Hamid Ansari's visit.
