In the first incident, Kamala, 56, wife of C Rangaswamy, a retired railway employee and a resident of Gokulam 3rd Stage, was returning home after purchasing groceries at about 8.55 am, when two men on a motorcycle approached her seeking an address. As Kamala was ignorant of the address, the miscreants moved forward but returned seconds later and made away with her mangalasutra. However, the miscreants managed to grab only 20 gms of the 50 gm gold chain as Kamala held on to her chain firmly. The VV Puram Police, who rushed to the spot on information, have registered a case. In the second incident, a septuagenarian woman lost part of her chain to chain-snatchers in Saraswathipuram Police Station limits this morning. Masanamma, 76, wife of late Basavegowda and a resident of the road behind RTTC in T.K. Layout, was plucking flowers in front of her house at about 9.25 amwhen two bike-borne miscreants approached her seeking an address and managed to snatch a part of her chain. While the miscreants managed to grab half of the 50 gm chain, the victim Masanamma succeeded in saving the other half (25 gram) by holding on to the chain firmly.
