Submitted by alvin on Mon, 2016-09-05 11:54 Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great fervour by Hindus in the month of Bhadrapad chavathi every year, especially by people of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the ‘Remover of all Obstacles’ and as the ‘Bestower of Divine Wisdom’. Being the most popular deity, Ganeshji is invoked on almost every important occasion, be it buying a new vehicle or beginning a venture. Bal Gangadhar Tilak started organising Ganesh festival to bring unity and strength. Ganapati’s idol is made from soft clay, painted and decorated. People bring the idol home and worship Ganesh for up to 7 days till Anant Chaturdashi. Later, they bid goodbye by immersing Him in water. As Ganesh is made from 5 elements, our body also consists of 5 elements viz fire, wind, water, earth, sky. Ganesh festival comes every year for a short period. In the same way, we, in our short life, must strive to attain divine virtues like Lord Ganesh. On this auspicious occasion, let us try to inculcate some of his divine virtues and pray to him to remove obstacles in front of us. Let us emerge victorious over the 5 vices, savour ‘modak’ and share our joy with everyone. 1 Akhurath -One who has Mouse as His Charioteer2 Alampata - Ever Eternal Lord3 Amit - Incomparable Lord4 Anantachidrupamayam - Infinite and Consciousness Personified5 Avaneesh - Lord of the whole World6 Avighna - Remover of Obstacles7 Balaganapati - Beloved and Lovable Child8 Bhalchandra - Moon-Crested Lord9 Bheema - Huge and Gigantic10 Bhupati - God of the Gods11 Bhuvanpati - Lord of the Gods 112 Buddhinath - God of Wisdom13 Buddhipriya - Knowledge Bestower14 Buddhividhata - God of Knowledge15 Chaturbhuj - One who has Four Arms16 Devadeva - Lord of All Lords17 Devantakanashakarin - Destroyer of Evils and Asuras18 Devavrata - One who accepts all Penances19 Devendrashika - Protector of All Gods20 Dharmik - One who gives Charity21 Dhoomravarna - Smoke-Hued Lord22 Durja - Invincible Lord23 Dvaimatura - One who has two Mothers24 Ekaakshara - He of the Single Syllable25 Ekadanta - Single-Tusked Lord26 Ekadrishta - Single-Tusked Lord27 Eshanputra - Lord Shiva's Son28 Gadadhara - One who has The Mace as His Weapon29 Gajakarna - One who has Eyes like an Elephant30 Gajanana - Elephant-Faced Lord31 Gajananeti - Elephant-Faced Lord32 Gajavakra - Trunk of The Elephant33 Gajavaktra - One who has Mouth like an Elephant34 Ganadhakshya - Lord of All Ganas (Gods)35 Ganadhyakshina - Leader of All The Celestial Bodies36 Ganapati - Lord of All Ganas (Gods)37 Gaurisuta - The Son of Gauri (Parvati)38 Gunina - One who is The Master of All Virtues39 Haridra - One who is Golden Coloured40 Heramba - Mother's Beloved Son41 Kapila - Yellowish-Brown Coloured42 Kaveesha - Master of Poets43 Kirti - Lord of Music44 Kripalu - Merciful Lord45 Krishapingaksha - Yellowish-Brown Eyed46 Kshamakaram - The Place of Forgiveness47 Kshipra - One who is easy to Appease48 Lambakarna - Large-Eared Lord49 Lambodara - The Huge Bellied Lord50 Mahabala - Enormously Strong Lord51 Mahaganapati - Omnipotent and Supreme Lord52 Maheshwaram - Lord of The Universe53 Mangalamurti - All Auspicious Lord54 Manomay - Winner of Hearts55 Mrityuanjaya - Conqueror of Death56 Mundakarama - Abode of Happiness57 Muktidaya - Bestower of Eternal Bliss58 Musikvahana - One who has Mouse as Charioteer59 Nadapratithishta - One who Appreciates and Loves Music60 Namasthetu - Vanquisher of All Evils and Vices and Sins61 Nandana - Lord Shiva's Son62 Nideeshwaram - Giver of Wealth and Treasures63 Omkara - One who has the Form Of OM64 Pitambara - One who has Yellow-Coloured Body65 Pramoda - Lord of All Abodes66 Prathameshwara - First Among All67 Purush - The Omnipotent Personality68 Rakta - One who has Red-Coloured Body69 Rudrapriya - Beloved Of Lord Shiva70 Sarvadevatman - Acceptor of All Celestial Offerings71 Sarvasiddhanta - Bestower of Skills and Wisdom72 Sarvatman - Protector of The Universe73 Shambhavi - The Son of Parvati74 Shashivarnam - One who has a Moon like Complexion75 Shoorpakarna - Large-Eared Lord76 Shuban - All Auspicious Lord77 Shubhagunakanan - One who is The Master of All Virtues78 Shweta - One who is as Pure as the White Colour79 Siddhidhata - Bestower of Success
