Annarao Saibanna Gamaga was found hanging from the ceiling at his staff quarters in Sultanpur in Kalaburgi. Though Annarao was rushed to a nearby hospital, he did not survive. Annarao, who was earlier with the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), was transferred to the IRB a year ago. But Annarao, citing his poor health, had requested for a transfer back to KSRP. Relatives have alleged that Annarao’s superiors had demanded money for transferring him. Annarao, seeing no way out of the problem, may have taken the extreme step, said his relatives. The police have registered a case and probing the circumstances leading to Annarao's suicide.
