Carrying posters, students urged Bengalureans to stay safe, with the mantra being: prevention is better than the cure. Speaking on the occasion, the Lisaa School of Design director Avi Keswani said dengue was a huge problem and one of the major causes of child mortality. According to the WHO, approximately 70-100 million people are infected every year by the disease. The dengue problem is worsening as majority of people have little or no knowledge on dengue fever. Therefore, there is need for further information, education and communication programmes. So, we have taken the lead,” he said. With catchy posters, students went around neighbourhoods in Bengaluru and educated people on how to prevent dengue. Students also gave away pamphlets on ways to tackle dengue.
