Submitted by alvin on Fri, 2016-07-22 17:57 Bengaluru: Praveen Shetty Vakwady, MD of Dubai-based Fortune Group of Hotels, handed over a cheque of Rs30 lakh to Patla Satish Shetty, founder president of Yakshadruva Patla Foundation Trust, at a function at Hotel Goldfinch on Tuesday. The money was raised by UAE unit of Yakshadruva Patla Foundation Trust. Established on June 5, the Dubai unit of Patla Foundation pooled the money in just 45 days, as the coastal expats were overwhelmed with the social welfare activities of Yakshadruva Patla Foundation Trust, said Praveen Shetty. “There is huge demand to stage Yakshagana plays in Dubai. The social welfare activities of Patla Foundation Trust in distributing scholarship, health insurance etc is also commendable,” added Praveen and also announced to form a unit at his hometown Kundapura shortly. In his address, Satish Shetty said work on building 100 houses to poor artistes in a 5 acre plot would begin shortly. Trust vice-president Manu Rao, joint secretary Rajeev Poojary Kaikamba, treasurer and chartered accountant Sudesh Kumar, and Prasad Shetty were present. The general-secretary Purushottam Bhandary Adyar welcomed the gathering while organising secretary Kadri Navaneet Shetty compered the programme.
